On Friday, the 27^th of September, Charis Chalkiadakis, Researcher at Harokopio University of Athens (HUA) and a member of the BIOTRAILS project team, attended the European Researcher Night at Metsovio Polytechnic University. This event provided researchers and the public with an engaging platform to connect and explore cutting-edge research initiatives.

During the event, we showcased the BIOTRAILS project through an informative poster presentation, introducing attendees to our Horizon Europe initiative, which aims to inspire and accelerate biodiversity-relevant transformative change in society. The project focuses on assessing the impacts of production, trade, and consumption chains on ecosystems, biodiversity, and human behaviour.

BIOTRAILS adopts a multidisciplinary approach, collaborating with stakeholders across various sectors to co-design pathways toward a more sustainable and equitable future. During the event, we engaged in insightful discussions about the urgent need for transformative change and the role of innovative knowledge in fostering climate, biodiversity, and society synergies. The public and fellow researchers expressed great interest in the project’s goals and objectives, particularly its efforts to identify leverage points for positive change and biodiversity conservation.
