Milestone Reached: BIOTRAILS Methods, Tools & Pathways Successfully Validated

We are happy to announce that with the submission of Deliverable D5.3 the BIOTRAILS project has successfully reached Milestone 8! This important achievement, marks the completion and validation of our methods, tools, and pathways.

 

Deliverable D5.3: Impact Assessment, Replication Guidelines and Policy Recommendations (A) aims to bridge the gap between understanding and action. By evaluating baseline social and environmental conditions across four BIOTRAILS case studies, the deliverable identifies key leverage points for targeted interventions. It sets the stage for crafting actionable policy recommendations and replication guidelines, ensuring that the BIOTRAILS methods and tools can drive meaningful change in sustainability across global value chains.

What’s Inside D5.3?

Comprehensive Impact Assessment:
Evaluation of the social and environmental impacts of the four BIOTRAILS case studies—cocoa in Peru, forest-based cultural products in Brazil, Mediterranean fisheries, and gold mining in Ghana—providing key insights into baseline conditions and sustainability challenges within these value chains.

Strategic Leverage Points:
Identification of critical intervention areas within each value chain, offering a roadmap for targeted improvements.

Policy Innovation Framework:
Introduction of a methodology for crafting policy recommendations, including policy mapping and the establishment of policy labs for co-design.
