BIOTRAILS Hosts 2nd Indigenous Handicraft Workshop in Brasília!
BIOTRAILS´ second indigenous handicraft stakeholder workshop was held on October 1st in Brasília-DF! Participants from various organisations such as IPAM Amazonia – Amazon Environmental Research Institute (Filipe Viegas de Arruda) SEBRAE (Pedro Cavalcante) Urucuna (Ligia Ferreira Tatto), among many others, discussed, complemented and validated the results from the first workshop on leverage points and causal loops.
BIOTRAILS Indigenous Women consultation workshop!
We are happy to announce the successful completion of BIOTRAILS Indigenous Women consultation workshop, held on October 3rd and 4th in Ji-Paraná, Rondônia, Brazil! The workshop provided a unique platform for indigenous producers to discuss the challenges and potential solutions to strengthen the artisanal socio-biodiversity value chain.
1st Learning Workshop in Peru: Advancing Agroecological Transitions in the Cacao Value Chain!
The Alliance of Biodiversity International & the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and the BIOTRAILS project successfully hosted the first Learning workshop in Pucallpa, Peru, on October 4th, 2024. The workshop aimed to generate knowledge through participatory tools that drive biodiversity changes.

2nd Stakeholders' Workshop in Ghana: Validating Key Findings to Advance Sustainable Mining Solutions
The BIOTRAILS Ghana Gold Case Study hosted its 2nd Stakeholders’ Workshop on March 3rd and 4th, 2025. The workshop brought together key stakeholders in the mining sector, including government agencies, academia, civil society and local communities.

2nd Workshop in Peru: Co-Designing Sustainable Solutions for the Cocoa Value Chain
On 29 May 2025, Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), partners of the BIOTRAILS project, hosted a participatory workshop in Ucayali, Peru, bringing together key stakeholders in the cocoa value chain. The workshop was built on the results of a previous session held in October 2024 in Pucallpa, aiming to validate and enrich existing proposals through active engagement with stakeholders.
2nd Workshop in Greece: Biodiversity Priorities for Greek Aquaculture & Fisheries
On 22 May 2025, the BIOTRAILS project held its second participatory workshop in Athens, Greece, bringing together key actors from the fisheries and aquaculture value chain. The event was co-organised by the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers’ Organisation (HAPO) and Harokopio University of Athens (HUA), both core partners of the project.

3rd BIOTRAILS Project Workshop in Ucayali, Peru
On October 9, 2026, the third workshop of the BIOTRAILS project was held as part of the second working session of the Regional BioTrade Commission. The event took place at the auditorium of the Manish Hotel in Pucallpa and included the participation of representatives from the Regional Government of Ucayali, the private sector, academia, research centers, and civil society.
